    TELECONFERENCING TIPS:

    • When possible, send an agenda to all participants.
    • Set a time limit for your call.
    • For regularly scheduled calls, make sure all participants have the 800 number and the participant code.
    • Where possible, have participants from the same location (office or building) call in together on the same line using a speakerphone.
    • Inform participants to announce their names slowly and clearly, and to include the names of their organization (company and/or department).
    • Use the Record feature at the end of a call to capture action items, commitments, or a summary of the call. If applicable, record the entire call instead of taking minutes.
    • If using multiple Moderator Codes, assign them by the person's name responsible for that code, or by the organization using it (sales, operations, marketing, etc.).
    • Use the individual Participant Mute feature to quiet a noisy cell phone connection, music-on-hold, or distracting background noise. You may identify which participant is causing any of these distractions via the use of the Participant Speaker ID Light.
    • Send all documents to be used during a call to all participants using as much lead time as possible.
    • When referring to a document during a call, always state the document title and/or page number so all participants may follow along quickly and accurately.

    Microsoft Corporation recently announced the detection of two new security risks located within their system. The company has developed patches to that can be downloaded and installed by users to correct the problem.

    NEW VOICE MESSAGING SYSTEM RELEASED

    Get automatically notified whenever you receive a message!

    Big River Telephone announces the release of a new voice messaging system, complete with an interactive web interface to check and screen voice messages.

    Big River has given users complete flexibility and control when receiving their voice messages. Messages can now be received via email, phone, or receive notification via text message on your wireless phone. Users can set their own preferences by making changes on an interactive web-enabled interface or by using their telephone keypad.

    "Messages can also be sent to the user's email address where a .wav file can be downloaded and listened to, saved or forwarded on to someone else," stated Kevin Cantwell, president of Big River Telephone. "Customers have an advantage when using our voice messaging system because they can check their messages anytime, anywhere, allowing information to be attainable no matter where they are."
