T1s

to Best Fit Your Communication
Needs
First,
let's start with a definition of a
T1? A T1 is a digital transmission of data
over copper or fiber used to deliver voice
communication and broadband Internet. A T1
consists of 24 channels, each available for voice
or data transfer or a combination of both.
 There
are different types of T1s that can
be customized to fit each individual
needs. A T1
can be set up to each
channel (24 total) to deliver telephone
service. Another type of T1 is an
Integrated
T1.
Integrated T1s can be set up to deliver local
telephone service, long distance calling, Internet
and VoIP service, depending on the specific needs
of the customer. Big River Telephone offers
both regular T1s and Integrated T1s as
well as Fractional
T1s.
Fractional T1s are primarily used for
Internet service. Fractional
T1s function similar
to Integrated T1s but only uses a
portion of the space that is available. Big
River Telephone offers Fractional T1s
with 0.5 Meg, 1.0 Meg or 1.5
Meg Internet
options.
T1s
are primarily used by business customers but a lot
of customers use them in their homes as
well. There are many features and benefits
of T1s. Some of the most common ones
are:
- Dedicated
Connections. This means that bandwidth (or the
Internet) on a T1 is not shared by anyone
else unlike it is with a DSL or cable Internet
connection.
- T1s
provide faster connectivity to the
Internet. This is ideal for people who
send, receive and download large files on a
regular basis.
- T1s
can also be set up for a business with multiple
offices to allow them to communicate back and
forth to each other.
- In
most cases when business have multiple telephone
lines, a T1 will be more
cost-effective.
